On Tuesday, March 5 at 6 p.m. Little City Books at 100 Bloomfield St. will host rock n’ roller Rhett Miller as he discusses his new book of poetry for kids, illustrated by Caldecott winner Dan Santat.
The book “No More Poems!: A Book in Verse That Just Gets Worse!” is filled with a collection of irreverent poems for modern families.
According to the book store’s website, “In the tradition of Shel Silverstein, these poems bring a fresh new twist to the classic dilemmas of childhood as well as a perceptive eye to the foibles of modern family life.
“Full of wordplay and visual gags–and toilet humor to spare–these twenty-three rhyming poems make for an ideal read-aloud experience.”
The poems focus on a variety of subjects, from a bullying baseball coach and annoying little brothers with equally sly humor.
Miler will be in the shop with his guitar, singing, reciting, and more on March 5.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information go to littlecitybooks.com or call 201-626-READ.
