STAPLETON, SETON F. 

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Feb. 19 at St. Ann’s Polish R.C. Church for Seton F. Stapleton, 76, of Jersey City. He passed away Feb. 10th after a brief illness. Born in Jersey City, Seton attended Xavier High School in New York City, Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and Harvard University, where he received a master’s degree in languages. He spoke Arabic and various Middle Eastern dialects fluently. He was stationed in various U.S. Consulates throughout the Middle East and Vietnam. He retired from the U.S. Government’s Foreign Service in the mid-1990s after 25 years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Polish R.C. Church. Seton was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Natalie Stapleton. He is survived by his sister, Daun, and a number of cousins. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
