On Sunday, March 24, at 4 p.m. members of the public can join the Hoboken Historical Museum at 1301 Hudson St. to celebrate the publication of its latest oral history chapbook, “The Basic Goodness of People,” based on the recollections of longtime resident and volunteer Rose Orozco.
Orozco is a former ER nurse and current volunteer for nonprofits including St. Matthew’s Lunchtime Ministry, Fund for a Better Waterfront, and the Hoboken Historical Museum, and a member of the Rent Leveling Board. Her life has been dedicated to service.
“When we’re talking about the people of Hoboken, when they know there’s something [that needs to be done], they do something,” Orozco said. “I do believe in the basic goodness of people. I really, truly do.”
The event is free; all attendees will receive a copy of the book.
