MELE, SALVATORE

A funeral service was held March 13 for Salvatore Mele, 92, of Whiting, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away March 5. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Jersey City and was an Army Veteran of World War II serving in Italy. He was the brother of Rose Wagner and Frank Mele and was predeceased by Louise Barbagallo, Betty Spiotto, Mary Senk, Anthony, Tony, Andrew, Joseph and Nicolas Mele. He was the uncle of Carol Donohue and her husband Joe, Audrey Luckow and her husband Robert, Nancy Spiotto, Michael Spiotto, Barbara Lullo, Anita Barbagallo, the late Sebastian (Sonny) Barbagallo, Elise Wagner, Lynn Ann Wiegard and Chuck Wagner and great uncle of Stefanie Luckow Hawkinson, Darren Donohue, Christopher Donohue, Dorian Meyers, Kathryn McKeever and many more great nieces and nephews. He was a great lover of baseball and a great story teller. Services arranged by the Riewerts Memorial Home, Bergenfield.
