According to the North Bergen Police Department, three arrests were made in connection with an alleged armed home invasion in North Bergen which took place on October 3, 2018.

The North Bergen Police Department arrested 38-year-old North Bergen Resident Ariam Ante on Wednesday, March 27. Ante was allegedly involved in the home invasion in the area of 41st Street and Liberty Avenue in North Bergen. He allegedly committed an armed robbery in an occupied residence, along with Mark Benavides, a 29-year-old North Bergen resident, and Aliquan Johnson, a 20-year-old Jersey City resident.

While allegedly conducting the robbery, Ante was allegedly armed with a handgun. The North Bergen Police Department conducted an investigation which led to the arrest of Benavides and Johnson. Ante was allegedly aware he was wanted and went into hiding.

North Bergen Police detectives worked jointly with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force to locate Ante. Ante was arrested in Oklahoma, and turned over to United States Marshals for extradition to New Jersey. North Bergen police took custody of Ante on March 27, and formally processed him on charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Ante was remanded to Hudson County Jail and is being held without bail.
