A mass of Christian burial was celebrated March 25 at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey City, for Veronica Cowan, 89, of White House Station, formerly of Jersey City and Jupiter, Fla. She passed away March 22. Born in Jersey City, Veronica was a graduate of Holy Family High School in Union City. She worked as an information operator at New Jersey Bell in Jersey City before retiring many years ago. Veronica was predeceased by her husband Oliver Cowan and her brother William Roche. She is survived by her children, Patricia McDonnell and her husband Frankie of County Mayo, Ireland, William Cowan and his wife Joan, Jacqueline Librera and her husband Frank and Raymond Cowan and his wife Lilia; grandchildren Patrick, Caitriona, Liam, Shane, William, Brianne and Kiera and great grandchildren Matthew, Megan, Lily and Eilis as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
