Wanted in connection with an alleged April 6 murder in Jersey City, Joseph Summers, 51, of East Orange, was arrested in New York City on April 25, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
Members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit with assistance from the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Summers, who was wanted for allegedly murdering Gregory Harvey on Wilkinson Avenue in Jersey City on Friday, April 5.
The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma and the manner of death to be homicide.
Summers was arrested without incident and was charged with murder as well as a number of weapons related charges and hindering apprehension.
The above charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
