Sunday morning, a fatal shooting took place in North Bergen at 2033 46th Street, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutor Esther Suarez said that one man was fatally shot. Two other men and one woman were also injured in the shooting. She confirmed the incident via Twitter at 9:15 a.m.

Members of the North Bergen Police and Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit are still on the scene. Authorities advise avoiding the area while the investigation is underway.

No suspects were named at this time in the investigation, according to North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco.

“This is a shocking and very disturbing incident that is in no way reflective of our North Bergen community, which is among the safest in the country, according to independent studies,” Sacco said.

“But as long as guns are so easily available, senseless acts of violence like this will unfortunately continue to occur. Our hearts go out to the victims, and we are confident that the North Bergen Police Department and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office will quickly bring all those responsible to justice.”
