A funeral mass was held April 26 at Our Lady of Libera Church in West New York for Anastasia “Dolly” Langan, formerly Tierney, née Dooley. She passed away peacefully on April 22. She was born in New York City and lived most of her life in West New York. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at Saint Joseph’s of the Palisades for most of her life. Mrs. Langan was retired from the Town of West New York where she worked as a clerk in the Community Relations Department. She also worked as a former top run model from the late 1930s to the early 1940s for the designer Harvey Behrens and was a former Miss Embassy, Miss Hudson County, and a runner-up for Miss New York City. During her retirement, she was an active member of the WNY Senior Citizens Organization and an avid reader throughout her entire life. Mrs. Langan was a mother to six children. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Tierney, second husband, the late Commissioner James F. Langan, and three children; Stacie Bochman, Melanie Herenda and Daniel Tierney. She is survived by three children, Kerri Tierney Campen, Ellen Tierney Forte, and Robert Tierney, and four step-children. Also surviving are her twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.
