LAVENDER, FRANK L.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated April 29 at St. Aedan R.C. Church for Frank L. Lavender, 90, of Keansburg, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 24. Born in Nanticoke, Pa., Frank moved to Jersey City at a young age. He served his country in the United States Army and Air Force during World War II. Frank then went on to work as a bus mechanic for NJ Transit for 33 years before retiring. He was a devout parishioner of St. Aedan R.C. Church as well as an active member of the Marist High School Men’s Club. Frank was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Margaret (nee Boyle) Lavender. He was the father of Joseph Lavender, Eileen Coppinger (Dwayne), and Michael Lavender (Dawn); grandfather of Richard, Melanie and Michael; great-grandfather of Angelica, Elijah and Nicholas.
