FAJARDO, MERCEDES E.

Funeral services took place May 15 for Mercedes E. Fajardo, 81. She passed away at Harmony Village at Care One in Paramus on May 11. Born in Ciudad Bolivar,Venezuela, she lived in Queens, N.Y. before moving to Jersey City 40 years ago. She was employed as a magazine layout designer for Harris Publications of New York for 30 years, retiring in 2005. She was an active parishioner of St. Aloysius Church in Jersey City, participating in its CCD religious program, and was a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed cake decorating and growing roses in her garden. She was predeceased by her husband Jose E. Fajardo. She was the mother of Jose Jr. and his wife Nancy Fajardo, Edgar and his wife Gail Fajardo; sister of four sisters and two brothers; grandmother of Zelina, Laura, Daniel, and Anna Fajardo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
