FIELDS, JOHN HENRY

Funeral services were held May 20 for John Henry Fields, also known as “Hank,” of Jersey City. He passed away May 9. He was the son of the late Charles and Cattie Fields in Estill (Allendale County), S.C. John was educated in Jersey City Public Schools and he worked as a laborer and shop-steward for Laborers Local 472 Union for 50 years. He joined Universal Full Gospel under the leadership of Bishop Scotland Bailey D.D. and he remained a faithful member holding many titles such as deacon, minister, and elder. He was the youth leader and the Sunday School Superintendent for over 20 years. In August of 1969, he married the love of his life Emma Muldrow and they were blessed with five children, John Eric, Byron and Lamont Fields, Darlene Rosborough and Nicole Tiagha. John leaves to cherish memory his wife, five children, 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters; his spiritual father, Bishop Scotland Bailey; and a host of other relatives.
