Demolition on a TV network studio once called New Jersey’s Superstation began in early June to make way for a new corporate headquarters for Hartz Mountain.
The studio, which once served as a broadcast center for Fox News, was purchased by Hartz in September for just over $4 million. Demolition of the interior is expected to take about six weeks before the building is converted to office space. The existing Hartz offices will be relocated from their current location in the Harmon Meadow section of Secaucus.
The closing of the studio came within weeks of the station winning renewal of its broadcast license.
Before the final interior demolition, the Hudson Reporter took one last walk-through and will publish a photo tour of the studio that has operated in Secaucus since 1986. (See upcoming story on hudsonreporter.com.)
