The Kennedy Dancers Inc., located at 79 Central Avenue, Jersey City, have announced their summer performance line up for the month of July.
Performances will be on July 17th, 24th, and 31st in various areas of Jersey City and will be free to the public.
Diane Dragone is the executive and artistic director of The Kennedy Dancers, Inc. and a certified dance teacher and choreographer. Each performance will showcase her choreography along with that of Kathryn Reese’s, which has won several awards in National and Regional Competitions this year.
The first performance will be on Wednesday, July 17 at 6 p.m. at Riverview Fisk Park ‘s gazebo near the cliff side that overlooks the New York City skyline.
The second performance will be on Wednesday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m. on the J. Owen Grundy Pier, and will be part of the summer series presented by Jersey City Cultural Affairs.
The third performance will be on Wednesday, July 31 at 6:30 pm at Leonard Gordon Park in the gazebo area.
All performances are free to the public and the audience is encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to comfortably view the award winning choreography and performances of the Kennedy Dancers Professional Repertory Company as well as the Inner City Youth Performance and Competition Team.
“This year promises to showcase some new repertory as well as traditional pieces,” says Dragone, “and we welcome highly talented and newest addition to the Repertory Company, Viktoriia Prosina, an international dance performer and formerly a dancer for the Russian Ballet Theatre.
“In addition, we will display the Kennedy Dancer’s Inner City Youth Performance and Competition Team choreography, which placed them with High Gold and Gold Medals along with First place for their Duet Piece choreographed by Kathryn Reese.”
