WALLACE, GEORGE

Funeral services have taken place for George Wallace, 89, of Jersey City. He died peacefully surrounded by his family on May 30. George was born in Jersey City and lived there his whole life. He was a pipe fitter for the Erie Railroad in Secaucus for 25 years before retiring in 1992. He also served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife Anne; five daughters, Ann Marie Scalise, Catherine Connelly, Barbara Wallace, Karen Cappello and Elaine Pitta; a brother, Robert Wallace; a sister, Patricia Clement; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
