Special music benefit on Saturday June 29

The proceeds will help provide musical instruments and lessons to underserved JC youth

Gerald Lucas Music & Friends will present a “Youth Passion for Music Jersey City” Benefit Concert at the Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery & Cultural Heritage Park, 435 Newark Ave., Jersey City, to help raise funds for underserved city kids and teens with a passion for music but no means to afford their own instruments or music lessons.

The event is from 1 pm to 7 pm. All are welcome.

The event will include an afternoon of live musical performances by Dirty City, Hudson County Rats, Jeb Jones, San Simon, Sensational Country Blues Wonders, United States Of Bugaloo, plus Emcee Dujuana Sharise.

Families are welcome to bring kids to enjoy the live music, the amazing nature and history at the Historic cemetery. Plus, meet and pet the goats and sheep who have just arrived for the 2019 summer/fall season. These eco-friendly workers are a great help to the all-volunteer cemetery mission as they help control invasive weeds and poison ivy.

There will be food and refreshments available. Admission is $10 adult, $5 kids and seniors, and a special family rate of $20 for families of up to 5 members.

Aart In America Piano Company will donate three pianos, and Metropolis Music will provide deeply discounted guitars, violins, and other instruments, and lessons.

The dollars raised will determine how many recipients will receive instruments that they dream for.
