Funeral services took place June 23 for Steven Lynn Hyman, 75, of New York. He passed away peacefully at home on June 20 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Victoria; his children, Marc Hyman and Lisa Mann. His parents Fredrick and Mildred Hyman predeceased him. Steve was born in Jersey City on April 21, 1944. He attended the University of Toledo where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Math and Science. After college, Steve returned to Jersey City where he worked side-by-side with his father and mentor Fredrick, the founder of Grand Lumber. His hard work at his father’s lumber company helped launch and inspire Steve’s long successful career in Jersey City as a business owner, real estate investor and entrepreneur. Steve was an incredibly unique, dynamic, passionate and generous friend and colleague. He loved to travel the world, play blackjack and show his family and close friends all of the finer things life had to offer – he will be forever missed. Services arranged by the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
