A funeral mass was held at St. Paul’s Parish of Jersey City for Rosemarie Haase, 84, proprietor of the Greenville Bakery of Jersey City. She passed away July 5 after a brief illness. She leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Heinz Maurer of Greensboro, N.C., daughters Louisa Krause of Connecticut, Michele Cayce (Thom) of New York, and two grandchildren Nikolas Krause residing in Nanjing, China, and Nadine Krause of Connecticut. Rosemarie immigrated from Germany in 1952 where she then met and married her first husband, Burkhard Haase, and who were owners of the Greenville Bakery for 20 years. She belonged to St. Paul’s Parish and her daughters attended the Academy of St. Aloysius. After the passing of her husband, Rosemarie worked at Caldor, got remarried and lived in Ridgefield, before moving to Greensboro, N.C., where she greatly enjoyed her life. She became a certified nurse’s assistant and cared for others for over ten years. Rosemarie was a lover of animals and nature, enjoyed gardening and inviting strangers to her home to try her German cooking. Throughout her lifetime, she loved helping people in need however she could.
