The Hudson County Prosecutors Office is soliciting information from the public regarding a fatal shooting in Jersey City on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
On Tuesday at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area of 169 Fulton Ave. in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, responding Jersey City Police Officers found an unresponsive man outside with multiple gunshot wounds.
The man, later identified as 35-year-old Jersey City resident Jason Dunbar, was treated at the scene before being transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center.
Dunbar was pronounced dead at approximately 12:30 a.m.
The cause and manner of death is pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is investigating this case with the assistance of the Jersey City Police Department.
No arrests have been made at this time.
