D’ALESSANDRO, MARIA

Funeral mass was offered Sept. 7 at Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City, for Maria D’Alessandro, 88, of Jersey City. She passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 4. Maria was born and raised in Torella Del Sannio, Italy, and immigrated to Jersey City 55 years ago. Maria worked as a seamstress for 33 years until her retirement. She was a devout parishioner of Holy Rosary Church for 55 years. Maria’s love was her backyard full of tomatoes and vegetables then canning the sauce for Sunday pasta. Maria was the wife of Michele D’Alessandro; mother of Carmela D’Alessandro; grandmother of Michael Lombardi and his wife Lisa; daughter of the late Antonio and Carmela Ciamarra; sister of Gigetto Ciamarra, his wife Renata and son Tonino of Italy.
