TURNER, THOMAS S.

A funeral mass took place Sept. 6 at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hoboken, for Thomas S. Turner, 67, a lifelong Hoboken resident. He passed away Sept. 3 at Hackensack University Medical Center. He served in the Armed Forces of the United States for three years. Tommy retired from the United States Postal Service after thirty-five years of employment there in both Secaucus and Kearny, mainly employed in the Administrations division. A member of the Hoboken Elks and a past president of the Hoboken Jaycees, Tom was an avid golfer and bowler. He very much enjoyed gardening also, particularly at the Jersey Shore. He was predeceased by his mother Theresa (nee Chirchella) and his father Harvey Turner and his brother Richard who were both tragically lost in a house fire in Hoboken years ago. He leaves to mourn his passing, the love of his life Antonia (Anet) nee Marchetti, and his only son, retired Hoboken Police Officer Thomas R. Turner and his wife Lori Lynn. Greatest joy in his life were his grandchildren Alexis Anne, Ashley Lynn and Thomas J. Turner, his sister-in-law Irene Marchetti LaBruzza and her daughter Danielle LaBruzza, along with her children Anthony and Michael Goddard. Also surviving are his two sisters, Rose Noden and her husband Glen and Janice Truglio and her husband Gerard as well as his brother and best friend Harvey and his wife Margie, two nephews James and Christopher and two nieces Lorna and Samantha and their spouses.
