Nimbus Dance presents ‘Stage Door Series Thrive’

JCAST weekend at the Nimbus Theater: NimbusPRESENTS Stage Door Series - Thrive!

The Jersey City dance company Nimbus will present “Stage Door Series Thrive” which brings together two important scholar/writers of the uptown and Harlem Ball scenes.

Edgar Rivera Colón and Felix Rodriguez will converse, recite, reminisce and share rare video footage of an underground culture only recently reemerged in the broader public eye in the FX television series, “Pose.”

The scholars will not only compare notes, they are also invited to express themselves as creative beings. Each will recite their own prose inspired from the culture that make up these communities.

And to make sure this scholarly process is not just a stepped back voyeuristic affair, Nimbus has invited invite the audience to show up, not just as audience members who will sit back but also as responders to the discussion with their own questions prose and dance.

This event is co-presented by Hudson Pride Center and made possible in part by a generous grant from the New Jersey Council on the Humanities

The event will be at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4 at the Nimbus Theater, 165 Newark Ave., Jersey City. Tickets are $5 available at the door and online at https://stagedoorthrive.bpt.me
