FITZGIBBONS, JOAN

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Sept. 29 at St. Paul of the Cross Church for Joan Fitzgibbons, 89, of Jersey City. She passed away at her home on Sept. 25. A lifelong resident of Jersey City, Joan was employed as secretary to the president of St. Peter’s Prep for 27 years. She retired in 1992. Joan was a longtime and faithful parishioner of St. Paul of the Cross Church. She enjoyed going out to dinner with her son James and watching the Mets on TV. She was also an avid bingo player. Joan was predeceased by her husband John J. Fitzgibbons and her son, John J. Fitzgibbons, Jr. She is survived by her son James Fitzgibbons, her grandson James R. E. Fitzgibbons and his wife Randi and great grandchildren, Cameron and Cadence. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
