A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Nov. 4 at St. Joseph R.C. Church for Anthony L. “Tony” Rotella, 91, of Harrison, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away peacefully at Christ Hospital on Oct. 30. Born in Marcellinara, Italy, he lived in Jersey City from the age of nine until recently relocating to Harrison. After graduating from Dickinson High School, Tony enlisted in the United States Army. After his service, he graduated with a Ph.D. from Pharmacy School, owning and operating Donato-DiPaola Pharmacy on Newark Ave. for many years. Tony had a passion for sports, and had been a Giants season ticket-holder since “Game 1”, Oct. 10, 1976. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale and Erminia and his sister, Rita. Anthony is survived by his brother, Dr. Frank Rotella, as well as many nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
