Members of the NJCU Jazz faculty and producers of Riverview Jazz will bring a swinging night of music to downtown Jersey City.
The event will take place at HeadRoom, an active music venue in the Powerhouse Arts District at 150 Bay St. on Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The evening will feature the student ensembles of trumpeter Nate Eklund, guitarist Paul Meyers, and drummer Jeff “Tain” Watts.
A jam session led by the RJO All-Stars will cap off the evening of music.
“NJCU has a great music program, so I was thrilled when my old friend Nate Eklund reached out about creating some performance opportunities for these talented students” said Bryan Beninghove, executive director of Riverview Jazz. “We’ve been doing some work with this great space called HeadRoom, and the timing worked out to throw together a really fun night of music featuring multi-generations of musicians. I can’t wait!”
Admission is $10, and $5 for students.
