On Nov. 18, Hoboken issued an email alert to residents informing them of various construction projects throughout town, including water main replacement, the Northwest Resiliency Park, and tree pruning.
The city is continuing with the first phase of its water main replacement project, which will replace 15 blocks, or 7,000 linear feet of Hoboken’s oldest water mains.
This week, construction will continue on Garden Street and First Street between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., including the excavation and installation of new water mains.
Street closures will be on Garden Street between First Street and Second Street and First Street between Park Avenue and Garden Street on Monday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Garden Street will be closed between First Street and Second Street from Wednesday, Nov. 20 through Friday, Nov. 22.

Construction is continuing on Hoboken’s five-acre Northwest Resiliency Park, which will become New Jersey’s largest resiliency park.
During the week of November 18, construction will begin on the underground storage tank, which can store up to 1 million gallons of rainwater to reduce flooding during storms.
Driving steel piles for the underground storage tank will take place for several weeks. There will be some noise and vibration associated with this work.
More information about noise and vibration mitigation measures is available at http://nwpark-cityofhoboken.opendata.arcgis.com/pages/construction-updates.
Twelfth Street between Madison Street and Jefferson Street has closed permanently for the Northwest Resiliency Park, where a multi-purpose athletic field will be constructed. New traffic circulation changes are now in effect.
Traffic will move westbound on 10th Street between Madison Street and Jefferson Street.
Traffic will move eastbound on 11th Street between Monroe and Jefferson streets, and eastbound on 12th Street between Jefferson and Adams streets.
Jefferson Street traffic will move northbound between 11th and 12th streets.
More information about the Northwest Resiliency Park project and construction updates are available at www.hobokennj.gov/nwpark.
PSE&G will trim trees on Park Avenue, Garden Street, Second Street, Fourth Street, Sixth Street, 10th Street and 12th Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, Nov. 18, to Friday, Nov. 22.
PSE&G has provided informational door-hangers to notify residents next to affected trees.
The tree trimming does not include the removal of trees; only pruning.
