Bayonne resident Brigid McCabe, a junior at Nortre Dame School of Manhattan, took 1st place in the NY CHSAA Intersectional Cross Country Championship held in prestigious Van Cortlandt Park on November 9.

Brigid ran the challenging 2.5 mile course in 15:17 to earn a ten second victory over the runner-up. Founded in 1912 by the Sisters of St. Ursula, Notre Dame is a private, Catholic, college preparatory high school for young women.

The XC team had a strong showing in its third season and is looking to build on a young squad of talented, motivated girls. The ND girls placed 8th as a team in the competitive field of twenty teams from all over NY state.

Brigid McCabe is a graduate of All Saints Catholic Academy in Bayonne. For more info, visit www.cheznous.org or follow ND on Instagram @ndcheznous.
