Funeral services have been held for James “Buddy” Davis, 90. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his long-time friends and family, at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rahway, on Nov. 5. James was born in Jersey City to the late William and Margaret Davis and was a lifelong resident. “Uncle Buddy”, as he was known to many, was a soft-spoken story teller about his childhood days of growing-up in Jersey City. He served his country as a paratrooper with the US Army’s 11th Airborne Division during the Second World War. After the War, James worked as a foreman for the Colgate Palmolive Company. Buddy will truly be missed by those who enjoyed his stories and the games he played with them. His memory will last for many years because of those who loved him. James was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Bill and Norman Davis. He is survived by his nephew, James Davis (Lesly) of PA and sister-in-law Kathleen and a host of nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
