Funeral mass was offered Nov. 8 at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston, for Ellis N. De Cresce, 85, of Livingston, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away peacefully on Nov. 4. Ellis was the founder and owner of Family Medical and Surgical, Jersey City. A graduate of Duquesne University School of Pharmacy, Ellis was currently a registered pharmacist and past president of the Hudson County Pharmaceutical Society. He was past president of Jersey City Rotary, a member of McKinley Square Assoc., The University Club, and Unico National. Ellis was Italian Man of the Year for the Jersey City Columbus Day Parade. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ellis had a heart of gold, a twinkle in his eye and a smile for everyone. He loved the company of family and friends both here and in Florence, Italy. Ellis was the husband of Gale De Cresce; father of Christopher De Cresce, Jennine Calderon, David and Arnold D’Ambrosa; grandfather of Charlotte and Everett; brother of Frank De Cresce.
