Hudson County Community College Foundation to host holiday gala fundraiser

The Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Foundation invites the community to its 22nd Annual Holiday Gala on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Culinary Conference Center at 161 Newkirk St.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will provide scholarships for deserving HCCC students.
The evening will include tours of the college’s award-winning Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) kitchens where guests can enjoy world-class cuisine prepared and served by students and chef instructors.
The HCCC 2019 Distinguished Community Service Awards will be presented to Frank Gargiulo, retired Superintendent of Hudson County Schools of Technology; and Gary Greenberg, Executive Director and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Hudson County.
The Foundation will also hold its Lucky Odds Raffle in which the Grand Prize winner will receive 40 percent of raffle ticket sales; Second Prize will receive 6 percent; and Third Prize will receive 4 percent. Raffle tickets are $50 each.
The theme for this year’s fundraiser is “Cultures and Diversity” in acknowledgment of the Hudson County community and the college’s students, faculty, and staff.
Hudson County Community College is nationally recognized for its diversity and equity programs. HCCC students were born in 119 different countries and speak 29 different languages.
In 2017, the Equality of Opportunity Project ranked HCCC in the top 5 percent of 2,200 U.S. higher education institutions for social mobility.
The Hudson County Community College Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit established in 1997, which generates financial support for the college and its students.
Since its founding, the foundation has raised more than $3.5 million in scholarships.
