GOODSON, DOUGLAS JR.

Funeral services took place Dec. 12 for Douglas Goodson, Jr., 89. He passed away Nov. 29. Douglas was truly a “Big Brother” to his family and relished the opportunity to be in their company. He was a father to his son Anthony, and an acting father to countless others. His personality was infectious and all who came in contact with Douglas have fond memories of their friendships and interactions. Douglas served his country with honor as a Marine during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong resident of Jersey City, which he affectionately referred to as “his town.” Douglas was predeceased by his father Douglas Sr., mother Helene, sisters Marlene, and Elaine and brothers Robert (Sonny) Cherry, Donald, and Ronald. He is survived by his son, Anthony, stepdaughters Sandra and Gail, sisters Helene, and Delores, and brothers Frederick, William, Dennis, and Tony, and granddaughters Tracy and Shani. Services arranged by the Jasckson Funeral Residence, Jersey City.
