A funeral mass was offered Dec. 14 at St. Francis RC Church in Hoboken for Marie Yaccarino, 85, of Secaucus, formerly of Hoboken. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her Secaucus home. In 1965 when her husband acquired his late father’s business, The Famous Biggies of Hoboken, Marie became instrumental with carrying on its noted reputation for a fine food family spot. In her earlier days, Marie worked for Bell Telephone Company in New York City, now known as AT&T, as a secretary there. Marie was also a parishioner of St. Francis Church in Hoboken. She enjoyed gardening, travel and certainly good wholesome Italian cooking. She was particularly known for her outstanding meatballs. The love of her family was always central in the deepest part of her heart. Marie experienced the loss of her late mother Rose (nee) Bencivenga when she was seven years old. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband for sixty-one years, Michael; two daughters and sons-in-law Rose Marie Ranuro (Steven) and Judith Guma (Michael), her only sister Rose Principe, and her five grandchildren, Michael and Steven Ranuro, Jenna and Christian Guma. She was predeceased by a grandson Christopher. A grand host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends survive her. Services arranged by the Failla Funeral Home, Hoboken.
