A funeral mass was offered Dec. 28 at Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City, for Domenick G. Amabile, 80 of Jersey City. He passed away Dec. 23 at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Jersey City to the late Arsenio and Mollie Amabile, he was a lifelong resident. Domenick attended Ferris High School and served for two years in the US Army from 1962-1964. He retired as a shop man for Iron Workers Local 545. Dom was a true family man. He stressed the importance of family to his three girls and made every attempt to keep his family close and instill in them the spiritual values that he so faithfully followed. He was a devout communicant of Holy Rosary Church and faithfully attended mass there until he physically couldn’t make it any more. He was predeceased by his wife Diane. He was the father of Maria Henkel and her husband Charlie, Diane Kanski and her boyfriend Jason Blaauw, and Lynnann McDonough and her husband Steve,  and grandfather of Liam Patrick Henkel and Gillian Kanski, brother of George Amabile and Christina Mele. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bloomfield.
