An unidentified man was found dead under an overpass in Union City.

According to a statement by Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the man was discovered on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020.

Hoboken police say they discovered the lifeless body of a male at approximately 9 a.m. The body was found underneath an overpass near 14th Street and Manhattan Avenue in Union City, near the border of Hoboken.

Prosecutor Suarez said the identity of the deceased male is unknown at this time. According to authorities, the man was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 9:40 a.m.

The cause and manner of death have yet to be determined by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. The Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case alongside the Union City Police Department.
