Hoboken residents reminded to shovel ahead of winter weather

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Hudson County area from Saturday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, JanĀ  19 at 1 a.m..

Precipitation is expected to begin as snow on Saturday afternoon with moderate snowfall up to three inches possible, then transition to rain on Saturday evening.

Hoboken’s Department of Environmental Services is preparing plows and salt spreaders to de-ice roadways.

Property owners/occupants have six hours after the storm to remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their properties, along with adjoining wheelchair ramps or curb cuts.

To report an unplowed street, unshoveled sidewalk, or other problem, residents can submit an online complaint via https://www.hobokennj.gov/311Ā or via the Hoboken 311 mobile application.
