Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and Councilman Ruben Ramos will host a community meeting regarding future plans at the current site of the Marshall Street Substation on Second Street between Marshall and Harrison streets.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the basement conference room of city hall at 94 Washington St.
As a part of PSE&G’s resiliency efforts, the Marshall Street Substation will be consolidated with the Madison Street Substation at 11th and Madison streets. As a result, the city will own approximately one acre of land that was previously occupied by PSE&G at Marshall Street.
Residents are encouraged to attend and provide feedback about what features or amenities they would like to see at this location.
Last July the council passed a resolution, sponsored by Councilman Ruben Ramos, urging the city to use the land for more affordable housing.
