ESCHENBRENNER, DONALD R.

Funeral services have been held for Donald R. Eschenbrenner, a retired Jersey City police officer. He passed away Jan. 18. Born in Jersey City, Donald attended Snyder High School, Jersey City and was a state champion in the pole vault and gymnastics in 1956. Donald served in the U.S. Army and competed in boxing. He became a police officer for Jersey City in the Mounted Unit and then the Motorcycle Squad. Donald retired in 1989 from Jersey City, his last detail was Hudson Mall. He was a member of the General Von Steuben Society. Donald was singularity incorruptible, giving of love and sustenance, faithful to home and country, champion in sports and epitome of loyalty, a gentleman for all seasons. He was the father of Eric Eschenbrenner and his wife Raisa, Lynn, Donald, Jr, Donna Basey and her husband Richard; brother of Gail Amato and her husband Anthony; grandfather of Stephanie and Richard Basey; uncle of Cosmo, Charles Amato, and Marta Loyer. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
