Dear Editor:
On January 25, the American Legion Bayonne Post 19 hosted a special fundraiser to honor and remember one of our own Law Enforcement Officers who on December 10, 2019 gave the very last measure of life serving our communities. Jersey City detective Joseph Seals was a Bayonne son. He aspired to a higher calling to become a law enforcement officer, he believed in serving and giving back to his community including protecting it with his life.
We honor detective Seals for the legacy he left with us as a reminder that freedom is not free, it comes at a very high cost. Let us always honor and remember him for his commitment to his fellow officers, to his family, and to his community.
The American Legion family Bayonne Post 19 want to personally thank all who donated and for attending this special fundraiser in his honor. We would like to especially thank the following:
Mama Rosa’s, Mona Lisa, Buttero, The Rock, San Vito, Pompei Pizza, Pizza Master, Hendrickson’s Corner, Senerchia Deli, Altamura Bakery, all donated spaghetti and meatballs for the fundraiser.
Thank you to the following bars and associations for allowing the pool tournament for our fundraiser: American Legion Bayonne Post 19, Knights of Columbus, The Vic, Shorty’s, and Chances.
