Juvenile suffers multiple stab wounds in Hoboken stabbing

Suspect apprehended

At approximately 3:43 p.m., the Hoboken Police Department received a call that a female was stabbed in the area of 532 Jackson St. by another female.

Hoboken Police Units were within a block of the incident, and as they headed to the scene, they saw a person running who fit the description of the alleged perpetrator.

Emergency Service Unit (ESU) Sergeant Luke Zeszotarski pursued the suspect toward 540 Marshall Drive, while ESU Officer Duke McCourt tended to the victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Zeszotarski apprehended the alleged suspect at 540 Marshall Drive.

The alleged perpetrator is a 16-year-old female from Hoboken.

She was taken into custody and brought to Hoboken Police Headquarters.

She has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest.

The police officers recovered the weapon, a knife, at the scene.

She was transported to an unnamed facility. The facility is unnamed in order to protect the identity of the perpetrator because she is a juvenile, according to the police department.

The victim, a juvenile from Jersey City, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance.

She suffered four stab wounds and is currently in stable condition.

The police department is currently reviewing all video footage from cameras in the area, and as a result of the stabbing, the HPD  is increasing patrols that were already in the area.
