A funeral mass took place Feb 28 at St. Aloysuis Church, Jersey City, for Maryann Sullivan, 74, of Jersey City. She passed away Feb 20. She was born in New York City to Sophie Deptuch and John Kelley. She married Richard Charles Sullivan in 1963 and they had seven children together. Maryann was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She was a compassionate teacher’s aide to hundreds of preschool children over the course of her long career with the Jersey City Board of Education. She was a strong and protective mother who opened her heart and home to all in need. Maryann was loved by all people she met, especially the Golden Girls. She loved to be surrounded by her grandchildren. Maryann is predeceased by her husband Richard, daughter Susanne, granddaughter Ashley, brother Eugene, sisters Stella, Patsy, Evie and Florence. Maryann is survived by her brother Artie (Genevieve) Kelley, brother-in-law Angelo Fermo; children: Brian (Beth), Kenny (Maria-Grace) Michael (Debra), Jeanmarie (Dan Hernandez), David (Doreen), Patricia; grandchildren: Peter (Hannah), Alexa, Brieanne, Brian, Tony, Danny, Madison Drew, Michele, Brookelynn, Kaitlyn, Gracie, Madison, Michael, and Matthew; great-grandchildren: Odin, Ava, Brayden, Noah, Milan, and Sullivan.
