Hoboken confirms fourth COVID-19 case

According to the Hoboken Health Department, a woman in her 40s is confirmed as the fourth positive case of COVID-19 in Hoboken.

She is currently under observation at a hospital, and her family is in self-quarantine as a precaution, according to a March 15 announcement from Mayor Ravi Bhalla.

According to the announcement, the woman has informed those that she may have come into contact with, and the Hoboken Health Department is conducting a timeline of interaction and monitoring all individuals.

Those who believe they may have come into contact with someone who was infected are instructed to  self-quarantine out of an abundance of caution.  Residents who then begin to have symptoms are instructed to call their healthcare provider and to not utilize the emergency room unless it is a true medical emergency requiring immediate attention.

“Thank you to all residents for going above and beyond to show support for your neighbors during this time of uncertainty,” stated Bhalla.  “Please continue to practice social distancing, washing your hands, and working from home to limit the spread of COVID-19 within our community.”
