ALVAREZ, GERALDINE

Memorial services were held March 8 for Geraldine (Gerri) Alvarez, 66, of Point Pleasant. She passed away Feb. 17. Born in New York City to Nicholas and Gertrude Benetatos, Gerri spent most of her life in Hoboken before moving to Point Pleasant in 2018 and made many friends from her years working in Hoboken’s original Blimpie Base. Gerri enjoyed her rock and roll, dancing, taking five mile walks/jogs to the Manasquan inlet and back, spending time on the beach, and swimming in her pool. Gerri showed her heart in 40 years of preparing Thanksgiving dinner for over 30 family and friends. Gerri rejoins her parents, her siblings, Barbara Brown, Michael Benetatos, and Thomas Harrigan, and her nephew Stephen Aquino in the hearts of her family. Her memory will be honored by her husband of 49 years, Victor, her son, Jason and his wife Vicki, her siblings, Nicolette Aquino (Steve), Elizabeth Wyble (David), and Andrew Vinas (Bouchra), and many nieces and nephews.
