Private funeral services have been held for Edward T. “Ed” LaTour, 76, originally of North Bergen, and recently from Annville, Pa. He passed away March 27 at his residence surrounded by his wife and family. He was the husband of Elaine M. (Bracchi) LaTour, with whom he celebrated 51 and a half years in marriage. Ed was born in Jersey City, to the late Vincent and Edna (Steigler) LaTour. He was a US Air Force Veteran. Ed served on the honor guard of JFK’s funeral detail. Ed was considered a pillar of his community. He was Director of Motor Pools in Hudson County, and was also the owner of LaTour’s Deli in North Bergen for 38 years. He served 30 years on the Board of Education in North Bergen, along with five years as president of the Hudson County Board of Education. Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Richard and his wife Melannie, David and his wife Melisa, grandchildren, Logan, Connor, Quinn, Rocco, and Venezia, and his sisters, Mary Hobson and Joan Chittenden. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert LaTour and Dorothy Mutschler. Funeral services will be private. Services arranged by the Kreamer Funeral Home and Creamtorty, Annvillre, Pa.
