A private funeral took place for Janet D. Murphy, 78, of Jersey City. She passed away on March 24. Born in Jersey City, Janet remained a lifelong resident and active member of the community. She was a Librarian with the Jersey City Free Public Library at the Zabriske Street and later the Five Corners Branch until retiring 16 years ago. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Hedwig (nee’ Jablonowski) and William Murphy and her nephew John Tamburelli. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Tamburelli; her nieces and nephews, Peter Tamburelli, Maryann Zappella, Joseph Tamburelli and his wife Patricia, Barbara Schulman, Therese Coar and her husband Paul, Paul Tamburelli and his wife Michele and many great nieces and great nephews too numerous to mention. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
