As law enforcement and other essential personnel work on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, the community continues to show its support for Bayonne’s first responders.

On April 12, the Bayonne Police Department was treated to breakfast from renowned local bakery Judicke’s. The Office of Emergency Management relayed the message through a social media post.

Chief Robert Giesler thanked all businesses and residents that continue to support local police during these difficult times.

Exemptions for nonessential construction activity now available

Pursuant to Gov. Phil Murphy’s recent executive order, all non-essential construction projects ceased as of April 10 at 8 p.m.

In Bayonne, there is a process in which some projects can be exempt.

For a site to be allowed to continue construction, an Application For Exemption From Moratorium For Non-Essential Construction Activity must be filed with the City of Bayonne. An application form can be downloaded at www.bayonnenj.org.
