BEESE, ERNEST W.

A future memorial mass will be scheduled for Ernest W. “Ernie” Beese, 100. He passed away March 31 at the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home in Edison. He was born in Jersey City and had resided in Colonia. Ernie was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Navy from 1944-1946. In 1951, he became a patrolman for the Hudson County Police Department and retired as lieutenant. Preceded in death by his partner, Margaret Duane, and grandson, Robert Mackanics, he was the step dad of Thomas, Robert, Patricia, Martin and Linda Duane, Margaret Daliani and Helen Muglia; the father of Jennifer Mackanics, Michele Vivadelli, Michael and Tommy Fitzmaurice, Frank and Christopher Daliani, Danielle Chase, Dave Muglia and Lauren Frullaney; and grandfather of Alyssa Vivadelli, Evan and Tyler Frullaney, Hailey and Kyle Muglia, Olivia and Evelyn Daliani and Natalie Chase. He loved making chocolate cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies for his family and friends. Services arranged by the Costello Runyon Funeral Home, Metuchen.
