O’REILLY, EUGENE P.

Private funeral services have been held for Eugene P. O’Reilly, 84, of Neptune. He passed away peacefully at his home on April 4 with his family by his side. Eugene was born and raised in Hoboken. He was a graduate of Hoboken High School. After high school Eugene enlisted into the US Army and spent two years in Korea. After his military service Eugene began his 38 years career as a Hoboken Firefighter working in Engine Co. 4. Eugene was a communicant of Holy Innocents Church, Neptune and was an avid NY Yankees fan. Eugene is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane (nee Breen) O’Reilly of Neptune; a son and daughter-in-law John Thomas O’Reilly and his wife GiGi of East Rockaway, NY. He was the grandfather of Max, Mariel and Gabe. Eugene is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Anna O’Reilly and his 12 siblings. Services arranged by the Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan.
