Now six weeks into this pandemic, the medical and support staff at Bayonne’s hospitals continue to put their lives on the line to save ours.
The Bayonne Chamber of Commerce is organizing a repeat drive-by event to remind healthcare workers how much the residents of this city appreciate the work they are doing.
On Tuesday, April 28 at noon, Bayonne residents are once again asked to drive past Bayonne Hospital on 29th St. and Avenue E and Barnabas Health on Broadway and 24th Street, honk their horns, shout out a cheer and wave a show of thanks. The drive-by procession held earlier this month was enthusiastically led by the Bayonne Fire and Police Departments and followed by private citizens with one common goal: to show appreciation to healthcare workers.
You are reminded to maintain social distancing by not overcrowding your car and only travel with your immediate family members who currently live with you. Please stay in your vehicle at all times, do not stop in front of the hospitals, and follow all standard traffic regulations.
Let’s do this, Bayonne! Show our healthcare workers how much we appreciate the sacrifices they are making every day.
