Private funeral services have been conducted for Lester James Belle Jr. He passed away April 12 at Jersey City Medical Center. He was the CEO and founder of LJB Construction Company and skilled at creating innovative architectural designs. Lester had many varied interests. He was a history buff, he enjoyed training pigeons, riding and boarding his horses, crabbing, and playing poker. He was a caring, supportive, and loving father to his children and his grandchildren. He cherished life and was a loyal and trusted friend to all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory his soulmate Debra M. Smith, his children; Deborah Belle-Jackson, Donya Belle-Awad, Leslie April Belle-Addo, Deirdre, Lorrainia, and Lester III Belle, Andre Deberry Belle, Valencia Belle- Hoskins; 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, siblings; Reggie, Clyde, Shirley, Patricia, Leslie, and Joann, guardian of Michael Belle, 3 sons-in-law, 3 brothers in-law, 1 sister-in-law and a host of loving relatives and dear friends. Lester was predeceased by his parents, 4 brothers, 1 sister and 1 son-in-law. Services arranged by the Jackson Funeral Residence of JC, LLC, Jersey City. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
