Funeral services took place May 5 for Rose D’Errico, 90. She died peacefully April 27 at her home in Jersey City. Rose was born July 14, 1929, in Jersey City, the daughter of Pasquale and Nellie Piccillo. Rose was a graduate of Ferris High School and worked as a seamstress after graduation. She then went on to work in the clothing retail industry. Rose loved to dance. She met her future husband, Patsy D’Errico, at a local dance, and they became lifelong Jersey City residents. They celebrated 67 years of marriage in September 2019. For the past 7 years, Rose was her beloved husband’s caregiver. Rose enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings and birthday celebrations at her home with her family and friends. At these get-togethers, Rose loved to entertain and was always ready to play her favorite card game, Casino. Rose was a member of Our Lady of Victories (OLV) Parish and was deeply committed to her Catholic faith all throughout her life. At OLV, she was a part of the Rosary Society and the Mother’s Guild. Rose is predeceased in life by her son, Joseph; her parents, Pasquale and Nellie Piccillo; her brother Frank Piccillo and sister-in-law Catherine; her sister Mary Weaver; her sister Victoria Romano and brother-in-law Louis; her brother Matthew Piccillo and sister-in-law Roselyn, her brother Anthony J. Piccillo; and her nephew Richard Piccillo. Richard Piccillo is survived by his wife MaryAnne. Rose is survived by her husband Patsy; her daughter Marie Harris and son-in-law Bob; her son Patrick D’Errico and daughter-in-law Linda; her grandchildren Patrick and Lauren D’Errico; and her dear niece Cornelia Weiss and husband Paul, as well as many loving nephews. Rose touched the lives of many with her loving generosity and kind spirit. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
